Non-invasive Technology, Experienced Staff, Patient-oriented Service

Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital was established in 1957. Since its establishment, it has insisted on patient-centered holistic health care, pursued for excellency, built learning-centered interdisciplinary teaching models, and conducted clinical-oriented translational medical researches. At present, it is equipped with about 2,000 beds and dozens of specialty clinics, aiming to become a world-class university hospital.

In April 2015, Kaohsiung Medical University Chung-Ho Memorial Hospital introduced the non-invasive focused ultrasound uterine fibroid therapy system developed by Chongqing Haifu Medical Technology Co., Ltd., and set up the first HIFU treatment center in southern Taiwan. The team led by Dr. Zhan Defu, Director of the department of obstetrics and gynecology, and well-known obstetrics and gynecology Professor Zheng Chengjie, made great efforts to promote the application of the technology. By 2019, a total of more than 700 cases have been treated, with a cure rate of 97%, attracting patients from 24 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, the United States, New Zealand, Switzerland. The center helped to bring six Haifu babies to the world, setting a new medical record in Taiwan and making Kaohsiung an important center of the development of HIFU technology.
